The Steve Huff Memorial Foundation Issues Formal Notice and Appeal to Meta Platforms Regarding Unauthorized Use of "Steve Huff Motorsports" Assets

SALEM, OR — The Steve Huff Memorial Foundation and Thomas Huff, sole heir, executor, and Executive Director of The Steve Huff Memorial Foundation, have released an official statement addressing the ongoing unauthorized administration of the "Steve Huff Motorsports" Facebook page and associated intellectual property belonging to the late professional racer and team owner Steve Huff.

Over the past six months, Thomas Huff has made every effort to regain control of the social-media and digital assets created by Steve Huff during his three-decade career in motorsports. These assets — including the "Steve Huff Motorsports" Facebook page, official imagery, video archives, logos, and affiliated DBAs — remain protected under U.S. intellectual-property law and belong to his estate.

"Steve built his name and brand through relentless dedication to innovation and community," said Thomas Huff. "It's disheartening that months after his passing, unauthorized parties are still controlling his pages and content. I will continue to do everything in my power to ensure that all of Steve's intellectual property returns to its rightful place under the care of his estate and The Steve Huff Memorial Foundation — where his life's work can be preserved with integrity."

According to the Foundation, the "Steve Huff Motorsports" Facebook page is presently operated without consent by Jill Andrews, Steve's former public-relations manager, despite multiple formal cease-and-desist notices requiring her to surrender administrative control. She has stated in correspondence, “she feels she is entitled to the page and Intellectual property due to her years as a team member of Steve Huff Motorsports team. The Foundation maintains that these actions conflict with directives from Steve Huff's estate and violate applicable protections for likeness, branding, and digital intellectual property.

The Foundation is calling upon Meta Platforms, including @Meta and @MetaSupport, to review the matter under Facebook's deceased-user and intellectual-property policies, and to expedite the transfer of control for all pages associated with Steve Huff, Steve Huff Motorsports, and affiliated DBAs to Thomas Huff and The Steve Huff Memorial Foundation.

"The Foundation's mission is to protect Steve's legacy, honor his memory through education and motorsports outreach, and ensure his voice continues to inspire future generations," added Huff. "Regaining control of these assets is not just a legal duty — it's a moral one."
